Power Transformer

Power transformer testing involves a sequence of electrical and physical checks, including insulation resistance, winding resistance, turns ratio, vector group (phase angle), dissipation factor (tan delta), magnetic balance, short-circuit impedance, partial discharge, and temperature rise, to verify performance, detect faults, and ensure compliance with standards, performed safely with proper isolation and PPE before and after energization. Key tests confirm winding integrity (resistance, IR), voltage step-up/down (ratio), phase relationships (vector group), oil health, and mechanical condition (deformation, tap changer).
